My professional, community, and research interests are centered around social justice, mutual aid, and equitable access.  I take seriously my responsibilities as an accomplice working in anti-racism spaces and as an ally  to the LGBTQIA+ community. My volunteer, professional, and consulting experience includes serving as: 

 

  • Board member, ACLU of Virginia (2024- present)

  • Commissioner, Charlottesville Human Rights Commission (2019-2023)

  • Director of Diversity & Inclusion at NRAO (2015-2025), where my work focused on structural change leading to a more equitable experience for marginalized youth in STEM

  • Board member, and founding President, of PFLAG Blue Ridge (2010-2023)

  • Adjunct faculty at the University of New Hampshire:  Race & Diversity in the U.S., Human Development, Intro to Psychology &  (formerly) Sex, Sexual Orientation, and Gender Identity

  • Adjunct faculty at Southern New Hampshire University Cultural Awareness and Online Learning

  • Consultant and speaker on topics related to equity, inclusion, and justice

 

I am trained in mediation, and am certified in Mental Health First Aid.
